J. Arthur Brown & Associates, CPAs is a local accounting and management advisory services firm based in the Washington Metropolitan area. We service several small to medium-sized organizations in diverse industries, including government contracting, non-profit organizations, retail, construction contracting, and numerous other service-based entities. Our firm believes that the effectiveness and quality of our service team are directly result of the training of our professionals. We place continued emphasis on the scope and focus of our clients' needs and the basic requirements to encompass a review of significant financial management areas and to develop more information of significance to our clients. This is directed toward the individual and unique needs of each of our clients.
We have two convenient locations in Maryland and Washington, D.C. Our Maryland location is at 4506 St. Barnabas Rd. Ste. 103 Temple Hills, Maryland 20748, and our Washington, D.C. location is at 1421 Good Hope Road SE Washington, DC 20020. We offer a broad range of services including accounting, tax preparation, and payroll services. Our services also include assisting clients in developing accounting policies and procedures, obtaining financing, establishing billing rates for government contracts, and preparing indirect cost allocation plans for non-profit organizations.
Our team is led by J. Arthur Brown, CPA, who is the owner and manager of the firm. Mr. Brown is responsible for the day-to-day operation of the firm's activity and regularly interfaces with the management and staff of our clients' organizations. He earned his undergraduate degree in accounting and economics from Albany State University and his Master's degree in Taxation from Southeastern University. He has also completed all course work towards a master's degree in Accounting and Business Administration at American University.
