About John Fullerton

John Fullerton, the founder and owner of the practice, moved to Eureka in 1976 and married his wife Gail in 1988. Together, they have raised three children, Tyler, Ashley, and Taj, all of whom have graduated from Eureka High School. John earned his B.S. degree in Business Administration with a concentration in accounting from San Jose State University in 1974 and received his CPA certificate in 1984. He continues to expand his professional knowledge through 40 hours of continuing education every year, focusing on taxation, accounting, and business administration.

John is not only dedicated to his business and family, but also to the local community. He generously donates his time to various organizations, demonstrating his commitment to the area that has supported his practice for nearly four decades.

John Fullerton's CPA practice began in 1983 with a borrowed computer, a borrowed phone, an old desk, and a chair. Today, the firm has over 100 varied business clients, including restaurants, bars, gift shops, doctors' offices, flooring stores, care homes, non-profit organizations, auto repair shops, grocery stores, clothing stores, and several gas stations. The firm prepares over 1,000 tax returns a year for individuals, C corporations, S corporations, Partnerships, LLC's, Fiduciaries, Non-Profit agencies, gift and inheritance taxes. John has personally prepared over 40,000 returns throughout his career.

• Marie Richards, EA: Marie received her B.S. degree in Accounting from the University of Texas in 1982 and her Enrolled Agent status in 2006. She is a member of the California Society of Enrolled Agents and has enjoyed her position with the firm for over 20 years.
• Alaina Coffman, Office Manager 1999-2020: Alaina was a valuable member of the team for over two decades before her passing in December 2020. She will always be remembered fondly.
• Ashley Fullerton-Sams, Accountant: Ashley graduated from Humboldt State University in 2019 with a major in accounting. She started with the firm in 2014 and was promoted to accountant in 2019.
• Connie Latner, Accountant: Connie joined the firm in 2010 after completing her Bachelor of Science Degree in Business and Accounting.
• Bobbie Fritz, Payroll Administration: Bobbie has been with the firm since 2018 and was promoted to payroll administration in 2021.
• Melinda Black: Melinda started with the firm in 2015 as a part-time data entry person and now works year-round with various duties.
• Gail Green: Gail started with the firm as a payroll clerk in 2015 through 2018 when she moved to Santa Rosa. She returned to Humboldt County in 2020 and started with the firm again in January of 2021.
• Sheryl Farland: Sheryl is a long-time resident of Humboldt county and started with the firm in
