Our History

Beal, Blakeman & Smither, CPAs (BBS) was established in 1984 by Kaylee Beal and Margrit Adams, driven by a passion for providing exceptional accounting and tax services to the small business community. Over the years, BBS has grown and evolved, but our core values of personalized service, technical expertise, and a commitment to client growth have remained unwavering. The firm's journey has been marked by strategic partnerships and the acquisition of valuable skills and experience. Cheryl Smither joined the firm in 1988 and quickly rose through the ranks, demonstrating her dedication and accounting prowess. She earned her Bachelor of Science degree in Accounting and was instrumental in transforming the firm into a partnership in 1995.

In 2005, partnering alongside Diana Blakeman, Cheryl purchased the remaining interest in Kaylee Beal, CPA, effectively establishing Beal, Blakeman & Smither CPAs. Diana, whose extensive experience as the CFO of a prominent non-profit organization provided invaluable insight into the unique needs of growing businesses, brought a wealth of knowledge and a strong commitment to client success. Completing the dynamic trio was Glenda Torbert, who joined BBS in 2005. With her 13-plus years of experience working alongside Diana during their time at the non-profit, Glenda's organizational skills and unwavering focus on customer satisfaction proved to be a natural fit for the firm's culture.
