We trace our roots to December 1, 1975, when Jos A. Alvarez Company, CPA, started his own CPA practice. Our firm has been providing professional accounting and bookkeeping services to the greater Tampa Bay area since 1975. We are now located in Apollo Beach and continue to proudly serve the Central Florida region. The current corporation was established on June 1, 1990, and we practiced public accounting until 1996. From January 1996 through December 2005, we performed consultations related to mergers and acquisitions, raising capital, interim CFO services, financial and entrepreneurial business advice, and held various executive positions. We prepared SEC financial statements as a CFO and worked with law firms on business transactions and litigation.
We helped manage and operate companies with subsidiaries and branches and up to over 100 employees throughout the United States. For over 20 years as Managing Director of a CPA firm, we performed audits for various industries, non-profits and government agencies. We also performed review and compilation of financial statements as well as record-keeping and payroll services. We prepared all types of income tax returns for businesses, individuals and fiduciaries, in addition to consulting and advising on planning, financial and operational matters. On December 1, 2005, we resumed providing public accounting services and consultations, and we use QuickBooks and are a QuickBooks ProAdvisor.
