The New Jersey Association of Public Accountants (NJAPA) is a professional organization dedicated to supporting and advocating for accountants and tax professionals in the state. Since its founding in 1947, the association has worked tirelessly to promote high standards of proficiency and integrity within the accounting profession. Our mission is to elevate and maintain a high standard of professionalism, while also promoting the interests of the consuming public.
Our History
The NJAPA was founded by a group of dedicated accountants who recognized the importance of self-discipline and a strong Code of Ethics for the profession. Over the years, the association has grown significantly, achieving major influence in New Jersey through its educational programs and adherence to ethical standards. Today, we have five chapters located throughout the state, each governed by a Board of Trustees elected by their peers.

Certification Record
The association is approved by the NJ State Board of Accountancy, the State of NY, and the State of PA, as well as the Internal Revenue Service, ensuring that our educational programs are recognized and respected across the country. We also offer certification programs and are affiliated with the National Society of Accountants (NSA).
