Housing Authority Accounting Specialists, Inc. (HAAS) is a family-run business that has been providing fee accounting services to Public Housing Authorities (PHAs) since 1968. Founded by Gilbert Vieth and Gordon Stasiak, HAAS has evolved over the years to become a reputable service provider in the Midwest. Today, we offer a wide range of services to 98 PHAs across six states, including Michigan, Minnesota, Illinois, Indiana, New Mexico, and Wisconsin. Our team of experienced accountants, including a CPA and a former PHA auditor, strives to provide exemplary services to PHAs, ensuring that our clients receive accurate and timely financial reports.
Our Services
At HAAS, we understand the importance of accurate financial management for PHAs. Our services include regular monthly accounting, such as preparing balance sheets, operating statements, and capital fund progress statements. We also provide monthly bank reconciliations, account reconciliations, and maintain records for investments, insurance, property and equipment, and utility consumption. Additionally, we assist with payroll reports, tenant accounting, operating budgets, and special reports as requested by PHA boards. Our team is dedicated to ensuring that all financial transactions are accurately recorded and reported, and we offer training sessions to PHA staff upon request.
